Every animal already has an identity. Paper never captured it.

For as long as animals have been bought and sold, identity has been a piece of plastic, a notch in an ear, or a line in a notebook. Those records are easy to lose, easy to copy, and easy to argue over.

A muzzle is not. The pattern of ridges on an animal’s nose is biometric — unique to that animal, stable across years, and readable with a phone camera. Animal Passport captures that pattern, hashes it, and binds it to a digital record: owner, breed, estimated age, body condition, and vaccination history.

The point is not a prettier certificate. It is a record that still works after a sale, after a flood, and after someone tries to pass off a different animal as yours.

That is what we mean by an identity for every animal: not another tag to clip on, but a passport the animal already carries on its face.
